The VCBC’s primary mandate is to provide its membership with safe access to medicinal cannabis and cannabis related products.
Membership at the VCBC requires a physician’s diagnosis of a permanent physical disease, condition or disability.
Some examples of the conditions we accept but are not limited to:
- Auto-immune diseases
- Chronic pain & Neuropathy
- Brain injury
- Restless leg syndrome
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Opiate Use*
* A prescription or receipt for Methadone, Methadose or Suboxone is all that is needed, as opposed to a doctors note. Given the current state of the opiate epidemic in Canada and the success that can be had using cannabis to replace them, the VCBC is happy to offer opiate use as a condition for membership.
Basically, if you have any chronic condition and have a doctors note that states you have this condition, we would happily welcome you if you would like to join our club!
- Many people who suffer from various mental health conditions can greatly benefit from cannabis and we at the VCBC recognize this. To make sure that we do not interfere with any doctor supervised treatment, we require a recommendation to use cannabis specifically for depression and schizophrenia.
We do not accept prescription bottles as a proof of condition for membership.
We do not have the medical qualifications required to confirm a condition based on a prescribed medication.
There is only one exception to this rule, triplicate opiate use. This exception is made strictly for these medications due to the level at which they are controlled.
